13.4 Lessons learnt

When your call option is ‘in the money’ there are three things you can do:

1. Close the option; possibly with a minor loss.
2. Roll your option to a higher strike price to date further ahead in time.
3. Get ‘assigned’ – consequently the shares will be delivered.
